WirePop is a "next generation" comic book publisher dedicated to publishing professional, high quality, creator-owned, comics, distributed through the Internet and in print.

WirePop.com is the first online publisher and subscription site of Manga and Manga-styled English webcomics. Providing its subscribers with fresh original webcomics every week, at a fraction of the cost of normal comics, with the instant access of the Internet. Eventually WirePop will expand to printed comics bringing its webcomics to the hands of every eager reader. Together WirePop, its creators, artists and writers are bringing forth a new way to create and publish comics.

History
WirePop was the brainchild of George Panella back in mid 2002 not long after the launch of the popular and successful Modern Tales. With his background of 9 years in professional Internet design and development it only seemed natural to him that he could do it as good if not better then anyone else. The goal was to create a subscription site for a particular reader base and give them professional, entertaining webcomics and content extras provided by a team of talented WirePop creators. "It seemed, to me, to make more sense to create a site for a certain reader base then trying to please everyone with a little bit of everything. Beyond that there seemed to be a lack of content and organization for anything aside from a weekly webcomic page on other subscription sites" This direct approach to appealing to one reader base, providing professional webcomics for that reader base and providing extra content by the creators was the launching pad for the current WirePop web site today. After spending countless man hours planning, programming, designing and marketing George set the plan in motion and on June 2, 2003, WirePop, the first manga-styled subscription site was launched.

George Panella and WirePop are here to continue the industry forming ideas Joey Manley of Modern Tales had set the stage for in 2002. "Don't be surprised if you start to see an influx of genre specific subscription sites, just remember that WirePop was one of the first." Some of the things that set's WirePop apart from the others are innovative features that give the creators more control and the subscribers more content. A powerful proprietary management system is the backbone of WirePop that gives more options to the WirePop creators beyond just posting great weekly webcomic pages. "Being both a comic artist and reader myself I know what I like to see from my favorite comics/webcomics and I tried to incorporate those ideas into WirePop."

One of the goals of WirePop is to provide its subscribers and non-subscribers access to ever-changing content provided by the WirePop creators. Every week subscribers have access to amazing, professional, entertaining webcomics and content extras provided by a team of talented creators.

Subscriber Benefits
Weekly Webcomics - Every week subscribers have access to new and fresh webcomics. These webcomics are created to meet high standards of originality and quality. Many of the webcomics will offer the latest episode for free during the week they are posted or until a new episode is posted. Some will update more then once a week. There will be sample chapters also provided for free. After a new episode is posted the previous episode is placed into the archive and the cycle starts again. Only subscribers have access to the archives, exclusive webcomics and specials.

Downloads - If the webcomics and galleries are not enough to fill your appetite how about some files you can download. These may be things such as wallpaper, music, icons and other little creative items created by the webcomic creators.

Interact - All subscribers can interact with the creators more directly and with other readers by posting comments to comic episodes, news postings and more.

Free Site Features
Free Webcomics - WirePop webcomics offer the latest episode for free as well as a free sample chapter.

Galleries - Certain webcomics will have a gallery where the artists can post images and sketches. This is a great place to see more work from your favorite creators. It gives the artists the opportunity to show some ideas, characters or just experiment..

Extras - If all that wasn't enough there is still more and sometimes it's the little things that make all the different. In this case we have extra's such as Cast lists and Contests. The Cast List is a little extra feature that lets you get up close and personal with the characters of the WirePop webcomics.

Sister Sites
WirePop wouldn't be complete without it's sister sites. These sites are added value for WirePop subscribers and non-subscribers alike and act independently as resources for fans and creators of webcomics and print comics.

The Comic Wire - is a growing community forum for webcomic and print comic fans, enthusiasts and artists. Housing forums for WirePop it also host forums of many other webcomics.
