Kara Matsui Shy American girl who has trouble adjusting to life in Tokyo after a sheltered childhood in American all-girl schools. Plays the piano proficiently. Speaks Japanese nearly fluently.

Neona Neona is Kara's roommate. She's a little cold at times, but Neona knows what to say and when. She also knows a lot of things about St. Mary's that Kara does not.

Kione ???

Ravi Kendi's classmate at university. Practically a fixation at The Diner, but never actually buys anything.

Kendi A peppy waitress at The Diner. Kendi is in college, but doesn't seem very motivated in school.

Sou-Sou Soichiro Yamada, or 'Sou-Sou', is both chef and manager for The Diner. He can be cranky, and sometimes goes off on long-winded rants, but Sou-Sou is a hard worker and a steadfast friend.

Ele'Ele Ele'Ele is an international boarding student, like Kara, from Niue. She is friendly and easy-going, and towers over most of her classmates. Ele'Ele is Penny's unofficial babysitter, keeping the crazy girl both entertained and out of trouble.

Penny Penny is an international boarding student from Canada. She loves anime and manga, and sports a cat-eared headband 24/7. Penny is off-the-wall hyper and crazy. She comes off as an annoying little sister to most girls, but Ele'Ele appreciates her company.

Moots Moots is an international assassin, and a regular employee of Kara's father. He has mastered 12 martial arts, killed an estimated 5090 people, and is wanted in 8 countries.

Tachiwara Tachiwara is one of Japan's top policewomen. She is famous for bringing international criminals to justice should they ever set foot in Japan. Still, even Tachiwara can't seem to catch Moots, and in her frustration, she quits the force and becomes a high school teacher.

Aiko Aiko is an international boarding student from Korea. She is very beautiful and popular, and comes from a distinguished family.

Shani An international boarding student from Egypt.

Marie An international boarding student from France.

Lukas An international boarding student from Germany. Neona's close friend and basketball buddy.
