Submission
We are currently seeking manga submissions.
1. To submit you must follow these
guidelines.
A. You must be able to keep a schedule and update
at least once a week, more is a plus. If you do not updated for more then three months without reason your
manga will be removed from the site.
B. We are only looking for new, original and creative
works. You must own the rights to your art, story and characters.
We will not publish stories based on existing copyrighted
material such as parodies based on someone else's ideas.
C. We are looking for Japanese-style
comics (i.e. Anime/Manga).
D. Your manga must be in English. "Poor English" submissions will not be accepted.
E. No graphic violence - Keep the gore to a minimum.
Nothing excessive please.
F. No "adult" content - Please keep the content under
a general American R rating.
G. When interacting with
readers, other artists or subscribers please act as professional
and respectful as possible.
H. We enforce a voluntary rating system for each
manga. Be truthful when you rate your manga on the site
as it helps inform the reader what your manga is like (i.e.
T for teen).
I. You cannot have your manga visible elsewhere on
the internet while it is on WirePop (unless it is a
free sample or the most recent page). The manga you
do for WirePop must be exclusive. You can however publish
your manga or characters in any other medium (books, tv etc). You always retain full copyrights to your manga.
At no point will you be asked to give up those rights to
WirePop. We only ask for exclusive online publishing
right.
J. There are certain "design" guidelines
that will need to be adhered to. This is solely for the
purpose of keeping the WirePop site design uniform. For example this will prevent having a web
page on wirepop.com in bright pink and puke green with blinking
text etc.
2. You must be able to create the whole manga yourself
We do not put together creative teams. If you need artists or writers it will be your responsibility
to put together all the people needed to make your manga.
We also do not act as editors to your manga. We give you
the freedom and responsibility to create and check your own
work. Also the more people on your team the more royalties
will have to be split (read below).
3. What you get
As part of WirePop you will receive a percent of the profits
gained from online subscriptions
for your manga. We are providing a means to publish your
manga to a broader audience. We always encourage our artists
to continue to do personal advertising and word-of-mouth.
Even though we will bring readers to you, you should still
push your manga as much as you can. Anyone that just sits
back expecting great returns from this endeavor will be sorely
disappointed.
As part of the WirePop subscription site, you will have full
management of your manga and creations through a dynamic online
management system which includes: hosting, manga navigation,
manga information, creator information, online galleries,
file downloads and more.
From the gross profits made each
month, you will receive a payout based on percentages you
gained for that month. The percentages are based on your subscription
referrals and traffic to your manga, which are then added
to your regular base percentage. WirePop will not make you
rich but the more we grow the more you gain.
4. What to send and how
We have no restrictions on genre or style as long as there
is some amount of Japanese anime/manga influence. We are looking
for actual manga (panel to panel) page samples. Character sketches
or pin-ups are fine as long as they accompany actual manga
pages. We want to see what you can do and how things flow
throughout your pages. We also would like a synopsis of the
manga you would like to publish with us. A paragraph or two
is fine. We can't read through full scripts.
Please submit a URL where your pages can be viewed using
the contact form. Select General as your contact option.
There is limited space so submit soon. Not all submissions will be accepted.
If you need a place to host your images we recommend these free hosting sites:
http://www.deviantart.com
http://imageshack.us
NOTE: Not all submissions will receive a response. Due
to the amount of submissions we receive we can not respond
to them all, but we do review all submissions we receive. If we are interested we will let you know. It may take a month before we can get back
to you. Many
submissions are held on file as we do have titles that leave
the site opening a space for something new.
